. they gave us a loose description. black man, in his 20s, dark clothing, with a weapon. that's describing a lot of people possibly. that's the information we have. women in the area are told to stay in well lighted areas with other people around. >> i wish i could find someplace else to walk. >> everybody especially people by themselves are all walking around with an ipod in their ear. >> reporter: that woman is absolutely right this. certainly puts your defenses down, people with ipods, iphones, any sort of cell phone or mp3 player when you have the headphones in your ear. you become a target according to police. and they are warning people to lock the doors in your car immediately and be careful getting out of your car, as well. although we don't know the exact circumstances of these attacks, it might involve a vehicle because police are also sending out that warning. we are waiting for more information from the oakland pd. >> thank you. anne makovec in oakland. >>> and a woman was able to fight off her attacker in the south bay over the weekend. the woman says she was jogging sunday mo

for joining us this morning. >> good morning. >> reporter: you think how this is proceeds depends on the boy's parents. absolutely. what's going to be key here, did this boy's parents consent to him being scared straight by this officer or was this vigilantism, a police officer take the law into his own hands? when you're a police officer you're always on duty and if you're going to cuff somebody, you have need to have a legitimate reason for doing it. >> reporter: reportedly these parents also have cell phone video of this arrest going on where this boy is allegedly handcuffed. that's probably going to come into play as well? >> absolutely. the witness statements and those cell phone videos are going to be key here and the district attorney will look at that in deciding whether to charge false imprisonment against this police officer. >> reporter: all right. mr. clark, thank you for joining us. we'll talk to you again at 6:30. back to you, sydnie. >> can you ask mr. clark, there were charges filed against both of the children, right? what happens there? i mean, is any of this made public?

's get another check of traffic and weather. elizabeth, how's it looking? >> chopper 5 is with us now. and they are showing us how great it looks across the richmond/san rafael bridge. they are heading west to the scene of that earlier brush fire out of san rafael. it was reported southbound 101 at sir francis drake. fire crews were blocking lanes at 4:00. as you can sees across the span of the bridge out of richmond traffic is great. no issues. just behind the sound wall near sir francis drake boulevard. we got off the phone with the chief of the fire department and the fire is out. fire crews are off to the shoulder but no longer blocking any lanes. out to the san mateo bridge, everything looks great. 14 minutes in the commute direction of westbound 92 towards the peninsula. that's your traffic. here's lawrence with your forecast. >> temperatures really cooling down outside around the bay area, elizabeth. good old low clouds and fog starting to make its way back onshore. you see some of those patches sneaking inside the bay now but all along the coastline more of that throughout the

to reveal that she was in the u.s. illegally. diaz's lawyer, gloria allred, alleges that whitman already knew that because she had received letters from the feds questioning diaz's social security number and that whitman told diaz to check on it but never followed up. here's whitman's take on the day this summer she says she learned that diaz was undocumented. >> we were stunned. just amazed and said, gosh, nicky, we are going to have to let you know. that's our legal obligation as an employer. we are going to have to let you go. >> we have no job, no schools, no place to live, and for that reason we made a decision to come here. i told her that she knew that and i don't have papers to work here and i need her help. >> reporter: the other allegations against whitman that she emotionally and financially abused her housekeeper. diaz says she was hired to work 15 hours a week for $2 3 an hour but that her duties were more than she could do in 15 hours and that she worked a number of hours unpaid. that could lead to new court proceedings if diaz decides
